As parents of children enrolled in Arbutus Grove Children's Centre and Frank Hobbs Out of School Care, you are automatically members of the Goosey Gander Kindergarten Association and thereby invited to attend our annual General Meeting on Thursday, November 13 At 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at Arbutus Grove Children's Centre.

There will be a short business meeting followed by a presentation by our current president, Maryse Neilson, on "Mindful Parenting and the Promotion of Resilience". 

Maryse has been working in the field of social wellness and mental health prevention for over 20 years.  She has graduate and undergraduate degrees in Social Work and is a Registered Social Worker. In addition to running a small private counselling practice, Maryse is the Director of Health Promotion for CFB Esquimalt where she runs one of the largest, dedicated workplace health promotion programs in the country for over 12 years.  Her team facilitates individual, group, and culture change in four priority areas:  Active Living, Addictions Free Living, Healthy Nutrition and Weight, and Social and Mental Wellness.  Maryse has also developed and facilitates two courses for Continuing Education UVIC:  Boundaries 101 and The Constructive Use of Anger. Maryse is passionate about social wellness and our capacity to develop resilience at any stage in life.  Her particular areas of expertise in clinical practice are “sense of self” and “differentiation." Learn how we, as parents, can learn from the age old practice of mindfulness to develop resilience in ourselves and our children.
